Smooth, handy and flexible, InMotion V3 can suit a wide range of riders from casual recreational users to hardcore commuters. InMotion application will enable the user to control top speed, riding comfort as well as battery life.

Learning: Easy (Average learning time - 30 minutes)*

InMotion V3 stands out from any other electric wheel simply because the learning process is much shorter and for most of the beginners will take just a couple of tries. The major advantages of dual wheel model are:

  • Improved stability
  • Reduced learning time

  • SCV InMotion V3
  • Manual
  • Charger

InMotion V3 flexes its muscles even when it comes to packaging. Velcro straps ensure the box is nice and secure. We have been impressed by the fact that SCV InMotion boast “high quality” from the very first time you set your eyes on the box.

One drawback is that Product Manual does not come in English at the moment, but that is a small issue in contrast with all the features, extras you get with this wheel.

Design and ergonomics

SCV InMotion V3 has a futuristic design, touchscreen interface that, along with great ergonomics makes this wheel one of the best electrical vehicles currently available. In some aspects InMotion V3 is actually rivalling Ninebot One.

Dual wheel design makes InMotion V3 increasingly more stable, the learning curve is reduced as most new users spend less time learning how to mount the wheel and riding in a straight line. Thick leather side panels make InMotion V3 one of the most comfortable wheels for both learners and advanced riders. It should also be noted that most people complain about quite painful learning on some of the other models currently available on the market, whereas InMotion V3 very well differentiates itself from this crowd.

Intelligent head/tail lights make riding in poorly lit conditions much safer and more enjoyable. Depending on which way you go, the light changes colour from white to red. The telescopic handle makes transporting the wheel so easy. At 13.5 kg InMotion V3 is rather heavy, but the telescopic handle is close to saving the day since carrying a 13.5 kg wheel is a hefty challenge by anyone’s standards.

The battery indicator on the wheel is simple, once connected to the application you can see the actual battery life (%) of your InMotion V3.

InMotion V3 is capable of playing back decent quality audio through the inbuilt Texas Instruments speakers. You can connect your phone via Bluetooth and listen to your favourite song or use it as a portable satnav vehicle. You will be thankful: Bluetooth audio player has minimum impact on the battery life.

Test ride

InMotion V3 promises to cover a distance of up to 14 kilometres on a single charge with the top speed reaching 18 kph. At a moderate pace a rider of 85 kg can manage to use it for up to 3 hours.

On an even surface InMotion V3 performs quite well, it is smooth, powerful and safe. Manoeuvrability is reduced because of the dual wheel design, however it is not that much of an issue as riders can compensate by having more stability when it comes to turning at slow speed.

This wheel is packed with safety features, from audio warning (American English) to pedal tilt which slows down the vehicle. Another safety feature we were impressed with is the 'System Warning' message. When the rider over powers InMotion's motor the wheel plays a warning message through the built-in speakers asking the rider to get off prior to shutting down. We found this feature to be an amazing leap forward in terms of rider safety in any of the current electric wheel makes and models. Pedal tilt is also very useful as it lets the rider know that he or she is about to reach the limit of the wheel’s motor power.

170wh lithium battery is rather sufficient for commuting. The handle makes it easier for a user to take his InMotion inside trains and underground stations. Its speed is not ridiculously fast, but rather elegant and controllable. This bit of control is strikingly better when it comes to urban commuting and riding in the crowd in contrast with single wheel models.

Pro users can even perform tricks and jumps which is quite unusual for a dual wheel model. It is quite impressive, we must say we applaud SCV for InMotion V3 and cannot wait for company’s next products to come out.

Both professionals’ and beginners’ feedback says that InMotion V3 is one of the best models in the market. Some might argue that certain features of it are redundant, but, as long as the battery does not suffer, these features are still cool to have. If you want a fast wheel, then there are probably better options for you. If you are looking for a wheel which takes less time to master, offers great safety features and full of cool tools, then this wheel is your perfect choice. We see SCV InMotion V3 as a product which has great value for money.
